New features for the KODAK i1200 Plus and i1300 Plus Series Scanners provide enhancements to Kodak's Smart Touch feature and Kodak's Perfect Page Image Processing Technology. Added capabilities improve ease-of-use and image quality to help businesses achieve more value and flexibility from their document capture platform. Pricing in United States and Canada (US&C) starts at $1,195 (U.S.) for the i1220 Plus and $1,895 (U.S.) for the i1320 Plus.

"Customers rely on document scanning to improve worker productivity through the elimination of manual based processes," said Tony Barbeau, General Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak's Business Solutions and Services Group. "Kodak continues to find new ways to automate tools for connectivity and image quality, making it easier for businesses to effectively make, manage and move information."

Users of the i1200 Plus and i1300 Plus Series Scanners can now use the Smart Touch feature to send scanned documents directly from capture to Web email clients. These include Gmail, YAHOO! Mail and MICROSOFT WINDOWS Live Hotmail. This new capability supports the growth of Internet-based email, which provides hundreds of millions of users with communication services.

"Businesses need simple connectivity tools to input information from paper documents into frequently used online applications," said Budd Webster, Business Director, Scanners, Document Imaging, Kodak's Business Solutions and Services Group. "With the enhancements for the Plus Series Scanners, we developed ways to ensure that users receive both optimal image quality, and that they're also equipped with the right kind of tools to effectively use the information extracted from scanned records and files." The compact i1200 Plus and i1300 Plus Scanners now feature the latest Perfect Page Image Processing Technology, resulting in clearer, more accurate digital images. Capabilities such as sharpening provide cleaner transitions and more crisp text, improving overall image clarity. More specific features, such as streak filtering and image hole fill, help to reduce the need for cleaning and improve the appearance of images, such as hole-punched documents.
