Elixir announced today that their Tango platform received a Strong Performer status in “The Forrester Wave™: Document Output for Customer Communications Management, Q1 2014″.

Forrester states that Elixir has “taken a bold SaaS direction and may pave the way for others to follow.” and referenced Elixir’s deployment at one of the largest health payer organizations in the US.

The provider is using Tango for formularies, pharmacy directories, and plan comparisons as well as several other member services documents.

Tango is a SaaS solution used by healthcare insurers to generate the communications required as members shop and compare coverage, during their enrollment, and for on-going plan-related correspondence. With Elixir, health plans can make these communications available on member portals, smart devices and in print, adapting and personalizing content in real time to the requirements of CMS-regulated communications using the convenience and flexibility of SaaS.

“The definition of SaaS varies greatly depending on who’s in the room these days.” comments Doug Cox, Chief Strategy Officer at Elixir. “So it’s important to mention that the Tango platform is architected specifically to meet the strict requirements of healthcare from a content lifecycle standpoint as well as security and scalability. These are arguably some of the most complex documents around, and generating them involves a cross section of people, content, data, and business processes. Our challenge was to optimize all those areas and then some, and I’m extremely proud to say we’ve hit the mark.”
